All change …

Followers will know that I have been a consultant for around five years. It has been a creative and fruitful time; I have worked with many interesting and talented people, supported many tremendous projects and teams, and been stunned by the commitment of the students I have taught. However, it became clear to me that my business model was not sustainable in the longer term. There is great freedom and excitement in running one’s own business: I have learnt a great deal from the experience. However, there is also risk, and unless income patterns are reasonably high and stable the unpredictability of one’s finances can outweigh the benefits. Consequently, I applied to the civil service and have accepted a role there, using and developing my experience and learning in a new way. Readers will appreciate that I won’t be discussing that work here: it is official and collective. However, I will be able to post about my creative thinking and activities outside of work, which I will continue to do.
Stay tuned!
